BELIEVE – A New Vision for a New Ambition

Untitled

On the 12th March 2017 Dysart Colliery Silver Band made history by winning the Scottish Championships (4th Section) – a win at the Regionals for only the second time in our history. This historic victory was brought about due to the hard work and determination that came from one underlying, foundational thought: that within our band, there is an untapped well of potential waiting to be released. And so as we have completed our vision of “Going for Gold” a new vision is needed – one that will take us through the National Championships of Great Britain and into our new home in the 3rd Section.

We at DCSB invite you to: BELIEVE

The task to bring our band to the Nationals will be huge, but it is one that we are fully committed to as we will representing Scotland as her own National Champions as well as being the only band from Fife. There will be a new document circulated in the near future that will detail some goals and some of the plans to take us there, but in the meantime DCSB have set up a JustGiving page to start raising money. We ask any supporters of the band to consider giving generously. Anything you donate will help us make this journey.

Together – we can continue the rise of Dysart Colliery Silver Band.

The Final Push to the Scottish

Hello folks – thank you all for your efforts today and indeed for the previous few months. You were thoroughly appreciated and enjoyed today and for the first public performance we did pretty well. The church recording was pretty good so I am putting a link to it below.
We all know what we need to do. We also know that we are capable. Up the concentration, give this final push the extra 10% and we will do ourselves proud next weekend. Remember – we do what we do because we believe!

DCSB Legend Bruce Fraser Passes

Dysart Colliery Silver Band are saddened to learn of the death of our former conductor and musical director, Bruce Fraser who served the band with dignity and distinction between 2011 and 2016. Bruce led us through a particularly difficult and fluid time in our history and was both steadfast and encouraging in all he did with us. We send our love, thoughts and prayers to Pat and the family in what is a sad time.
